Dr. Richard Fleet à rencontrer Dr. Jonh P. Woodall, chef médical du Royal Flying Doctor Service, à Adelaide, AUT. Le Dr. Fleet à pu visiter les installations du RFDS et discuter des différences entre les services médicaux d'urgences fournis au Québec en milieu rural et les services disponibles dans les régions rurales du Sud de l'Australie. Selon le Dr. Fleet: « Nous [les québécois] avons beaucoup à apprendre de l'Australie!»

De plus, le Dr. Fleet a participer au World Rural Health Conference (WRHC) à Cairns, Australie. Il y a présenté les affiches «Mobilization of healthcare professionals, policymakers, representatives, and citizens to improve healthcare and services in Northern ED in Quebec - Pilot Study» et « Rural versus urban pre-hospital and hospital mortality following traumatic event in Quebec, Canada: a preliminary study»3

Dr. Richard Fleet met with Dr. John P. Woodall, chief medical officer of the Royal Flying Doctor Service in Adelaide, Australia. They toured the RFDS facilities and discussed the differences between rural emergency services in Quebec and in southern Australia. “We Quebecers have a lot to learn from Australia!” said Dr. Fleet.

He later participated in the World Rural Health Conference (WRHC) in Cairns, Australia, and presented posters on “Mobilization of healthcare professionals, policymakers, patient representatives, and citizens to improve healthcare and services in northern emergency departments in Quebec – a pilot study”, and “Rural versus urban pre-hospital and hospital mortality following traumatic events in Quebec, Canada: a preliminary study.”
